Group lessons are an effective tool to promote the following:

  • Collaborative Learning - promotes critical thinking skills and the development of ideas. Promotes communication and respect for peers and self.

  • Ensemble Playing- encourages teamwork and connection through music. Challenges students to engage with other musical parts as they perform their own.

  • Peer to Peer Connection and Encouragement- allows students to relate to other like-minded musicians and create a sense of community through music.

  • Longer lesson times- Group lessons are often longer then beginning private lessons on average and at a fraction of the cost.

  • Cost-effective- Group lessons are less expensive than private lessons and are a wonderful way to evaluate your child’s interest level before committing to individual study.
