June 17 - June 21 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM
Come join us for a week of everything cello! The PWSA cello choir accepts all levels of students, from intermediate to the most advanced, there is a part for everyone. You must have played in your school ensemble for two years or one year of private instruction.. We will discover all of the different types of music possible in a cello ensemble: electric, Celtic, classical, folk, and many more. During the week you will be taught by professional cellists in sectionals, cello technique classes, as well as rehearse with all cellos for a performance at the end of the week.
July 8- July 12 5:30 PM- 7:00 PM
This 5 day program will help you reclaim spontaneous musical expression. Many courses in improvisation require memorization of endless patterns and chord progressions. We will be taking a more organic approach and allow the learning to happen naturally by simply doing. Participants will discover the joys of free improvisation, structured improvisation, and improvisation in the context of learning repertoire. All instruments and all levels are welcome.
July 15- July 19 6:00 PM-8:00 PM
Quartets, trios, and small ensembles is what this week is all about. Get your friends together to form a group, or let us put one together for you. Participants will be coached as a group as well as receive a private lesson daily to help work on the ensemble repertoire. There will be a performance at the end of the week. Open to violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano students.
Fee: $299 (10% discount for preformed groups)
