Why we do what we do....

My musical story began at the age of 11. I come from a large, mostly musical family and I chose to study the cello just like my mother did. Because my mom was a cellist, she knew all of the best teachers to send me to. My first teacher was a wonderful woman who gave me a strong foundation of cello technique. She instilled in me the love of creating music as well as the process that a person goes through to perfect music.

My next teacher brought me to a new level of difficulty in my playing, but always with a smile on his face and supportive words. He knew that threats and stern looks would not inspire me to want to study music.

From those early years I was HOOKED! Imagine...knowing exactly what you wanted to be when you grew up at the age of 11! But I did. I wanted to teach and inspire students, just as I was.

I feel so fortunate and blessed to be able to take my students through the same process that I loved. To give them a strong foundation in technique in a friendly, supportive atmosphere is our main goal.
